There were stories, of course, about a merfolk ocean king, which implies the existence of a merfolk kingdom, but Sampo had written all that off as just fairytales, like the rest of merfolk existence. But he's got a real merman in front of him, so maybe the merfolk kingdom really does exist, too.]
