[Sampo Koski has a pretty well developed sense of self preservation-- he knows that he would've never gotten close enough to Gepard to touch him like this without severe consequences, ones that would be detrimental to his business. So it was really a practical decision, keeping his distance from the good Captain at every opportunity.]
